OPEN LOG #1
| INTRODUCTION |
| Welcome to Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, where we're the best there is at we do! Founded by Charles Xavier, the school exists to help young mutants understand their powers in order to use them wisely in the real world. Being approved by the educational board of the United States means that the school has all your typical classes: Mathematics, English, Science, Phys Ed, et cetera -- but being a mutant school means there's even more than that, like Outer Space Survival, Possible Histories, and The Art of Fighting without Fighting.
We offer classes, extracurricular activities, sports activities, field trips, and everything else that fine institutes are known for. Just count us a little higher than the rest, though -- especially since we're the only school that can handle mutants. |
PROMPT 1: FIRST DAY |
| It's the welcome ceremonies, which means you've all assembled on the front grounds of the school to listen to Headmaster Logan's big speech. It's not a very good speech, mind you -- something like welcome new students and hope you learn a lot here -- but you can tell he has a lot of heart.
After the ceremonies are over, you're free to explore the school, whether on your own or with one of the professors or a student who's already been here a while and knows the way things go. There's a GREENHOUSE, the LIBRARY, the ATRIUM, the CAFETERIA, the COURTYARD, the ARCHERY RANGE... you name it, the mansion probably has it. Charles Xavier's not one to skrimp out on money when there's things to be learned, you know. Alternatively, maybe you just want to go to your NEW ROOM and maybe meet your roommate on the way. Maybe some neighbours? Maybe you're sleeping right next to the room one of the chaperoning professors sleep in. Either way, there're definitely some new strangers for you to get to know now! |
PROMPT 2: BAMF-CATCHING |
| You've been at the school a while. Classes are definitely interesting, and there're some subjects you've never even heard of. Of all the things you've never seen, though, the Bamfs are pretty out there. These tiny blue things teleport in and out of all inches in the school, both outside of class and right in the middle of it. They write graffiti on the walls, yell out "BAMF!" and "WHISKEY!", and stare at pretty girls in ways that are probably considered uncomfortable. Sometimes they grab students and teleport them to other areas in the school!
The staff know about it, of course. Headmaster Logan is especially aware of them, and sometimes you can hear him yelling in the halls for the damn things to come back with his whiskey!. They're too big a threat to be able to take down, however, and are far too crafty to keep tame. One day, you see a sign on the bulletin board reading: BAMF CATCHING - MONETARY PRIZE FOR WHOEVER CATCHES THE MOST BAMFS. SACKS CAN BE FOUND OUTSIDE HEADMASTER LOGAN'S OFFICE. Do you dare try? |
PROMPT 3: DANGER ROOM TRAINING |
When you hear the first "Danger Room Quiz" is coming up, you expect to be taken to the place where the X-Men train. What you don't expect, however, is for Friday homeroom to have this announcement on the PA systems in a voice that is absolutely Hank McCoy's:"Good morning, students! As you already know, today is your first Danger Room Quiz. Now, typically we bring students in batches into the Danger Room, but Charles and I have decided to try something new... turning the entire school into one! With that, the broadcast ends. Your homeroom teachers offer you a sheepish smile. And then they dismiss you for the quiz. |
PROMPT 4: WILDCARD |
| If none of these prompts appeal to you, make one of your own! Have fun! |

Nothing could possibly go wrong. NOTHING.
Nice to meet you, Kurt. [The girl takes a step closer actually offering her hand. She's kind of the formal type and really bad at social interactions, Kurt will have to forgive her.]
Do I? There are people here that look like some of my friends but they're the opposite gender. [Beating around the bush is not something she does.]
nope not at all!!
her formalness is nice, actually. kurt stands, reaches to meet her offered limb, firmly clasping the hand and shaking.] Yes, you do.
Wow, really? [a beat.] Is there a girl that looks like me?
Everything is so chill and comfortable already
No that I know her but.. perhaps? [ Tentatively, she offers a small smile Maybe another you will show up here too. ]Everything is so strange, I don't even have other clothes to wear. Would you happen to know where I could get any?
yes definitely there are absolutely no problems
That would be interesting to see some day. [and for emphasis, he nods then glances over his shoulder.] Uhm, well, I might have some extra clothes you could borrow until you are able to get your own things? If you'd prefer actual girl clothes, I'm pretty sure I saw my friend Jubilee around here somewhere.
None whatsoever
I don't really wear girly clothes often. I think you're too tall to lend me any kind of pants but if I could borrow a shirt or a jacket that could be fantastic. Just until I can find a teacher to tell me where to get the clothes. And uhm...where to get some money.
At that, she makes an apologetic face because Summer really doesn't like to ask for these things but she literally showed up in this world with nothing but the clothes on her.
Have you been here for a while?
no subject
Sure! I have plenty of shirts and coats that you could choose from, so you can take whatever you like. [a pause, his hand withdrawing then reaching to settle at his chin.] That's ... something I'm not sure of. [kurt perks, though, grin widening with exuberance.] I've no problem giving you money, either.
[because he remembers how it felt, borrowing from his friends or them offering nice things when he first arrived. it was exceptionally generous; he was thankful (and still is), but being able to make purchases of ones own accord is also nice.] Not long at all. A few days, perhaps, at the most?
no subject
A coat would be wonderful, I just need one. Thank you, Kurt. And no, no, I can't take your money. I appreciate it but... [ There's a blush creeping on her cheeks know because she does need the money but it feels wrong to take it. They've just met. ] I just need to find Miss Frost and talk to her, she will know what to do.
Ah, that's not a lot then. Is people treating you well?
no subject
Here, [he offers, turning to dig into one of his nearby bags and pull a coat free.] You're welcome, but if you can't find her, I insist that you come back and ask. [because he has some to spare for summer, especially for necessities like clothes.
after handing the jacket over, he nods and raises the same hand he'd used, rubbing sheepishly at the nape of his neck.] They usually do. I'm sure there will be people who won't take as kindly to my presence.
no subject
Thank you, Kurt. Let me invite you to lunch or something once I get things sorted out, to thank you.
[ She clearly isn't bothered by Kurt's looks or what others might think but to hear that some might be mean to him makes Summers frown. ]Well, it's their loss then.
no subject
Lunch? [well, maybe he could be convinced to accept her gratitude ...] You know what? Sure, I'll take you up on that. We can go once you're all settled in.
[her comment warrants another grin then he lowers the arm, happy that he and his roommate will have no trouble getting along.] That's kind of you to say.
It's okay if we end/face to black this? C: I'm a bit swamped with tags
Perfect! [ Summer doesn't say more but she smiles, happy and sincere. It might remind Kurt of the Scott he knows, if only for a brief moment. ]
I should go see if I can find Miss Frost or someone from my world, It was really nice to meet you Kurt, I look forward to sharing a room with you.
